About Rahat Indori

Rahat Indori (1 January 1950 – 11 August 2020) was an Indian Bollywood lyricist and Urdu poet. He was also a former professor of Urdu language and a painter.

Indori was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He received his early education in Indore, and then went on to study Urdu literature at the University of Delhi. After graduating from university, he worked as a professor of Urdu literature at Devi Ahilya University in Indore.

Indori began writing poetry at a young age. His first collection of poems, Aasmaan (Sky), was published in 1977. He went on to publish several more collections of poetry, including Aankh Mein Pani Rakho (Keep Water in Your Eyes), Roz Taron Ko Numaish Mein Khalal Padta Hai (Every Day, the Stars Are Disturbed in the Show), and Hath Khaali Hain Tere Shahr Se Jaate Jaate (Your Hands Are Empty as You Leave My City).
