Ubaidullah Aleem was a famous Pakistani Urdu poet. He was born in 1939 in Bhopal, India. Later his family moved to Pakistan. He did post-graduation in Urdu from Karachi University.
Ubaidullah Aleem started his career in radio and later joined television as a producer. In 1978 he was forced to resign for being a member of the Ahmadiyya community. After going to England in 1991, he returned to Pakistan. He died in 1998.
His first poetry book "Chaand Chehra Sitara Aankhen" was published in 1974. In 1986, "Veeran Sarai Ka Diya" was published. He was awarded the Adamjee Award, Pakistan's highest literary award.
Ubaidullah Aleem was known for his deep and melodious Urdu poetry. His poetry reflected a deep understanding of the themes of love, spirituality and human emotions. He was known for his complex metaphors, vivid imagery, and unique blend of traditional and modern poetic styles.
